Each horse is painstakingly hand cut from a large gourd piece,I carefully consider the curve of the gourd which influences the personality of each piece.I then paint a variety of Native American symbols on the body, the mask and saddle are deer hide, the mane and tail are horse hair.The feathers are also made from gourd pieces and painted.I add turquoise beads to the stand for enlightenment;strength and spirituality.The base is basswood which I stain and pyroengrave with a meaningful Native American blessing.
Each piece can be customized with your own horses mane or tail hair.
